The flower export amount (mainly cut flowers) from Yunnan kept stable and increased to the world market in 2005, the export value increased 39.6% than the year of 2004. Flowers were delivered to 33 countries and regions among Europe, America, Asia, and Oceania. Laos, Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan, Spain, and Austria are the new destinations for Yunnan flowers, the rest countries are United State, U.K, Netherlands, France, Germany, Russia, Canada, Japan, Australia, korea, Hong Kong and so on. For some countries the export value increased over 100% than the last year, such as Netherlands, U.K, Australia and Russia.
In the meantime, the greens, young plants and bulbs are exported also except cut flowers. Kunming has become a key propagation center of young plants production in China, nearly 5 million young plants of Carnation which propagated by Yunnan Yingmao Flower Industry Co., Ltd. were exported in past three years; 32 million young plants of chrysanthemum which cultivated by Kunming Hongzhihua Horticulture Co., Ltd were mainly exported to Japan, the export value reached USD 1.56 million in 2005.
Regarding to nationalization of lily bulbs, a great progress has been achieved in Yunnan. A part of bulbs (Such as Calla and Gladiolus) which cultivated in Yunnan were exported in recent years. Calla bulbs which propagated by Kunming Meilan Flower Breeding Co., Ltd have been exported to the Netherlands.
According to the statistics from Kunming Customs Bureau, Yunnan bulbs have been exported to the Netherlands, United States, Italy, Malaysia and Indonesia. Except Indonesia, the rest four countries are the first time to export, the bigger amount are exported to the Netherlands and United States.
