A few days ago, the CPC and province government of Yunnan determined to
adopt the development of flower industry as an important content of
constructing Yunnan into a green province of strong economy, and brought
forth the development thought and goal of flower industry of Yunnan, to
develop Yunnan into the largest flower export base and the market
transaction center of China and even Asia.
According to the development though, till
2005, the planting area of flowers in Yunnan will reach 50000mu, with a
total output value of 1.6 billion Yuan, the export rate of final product
flower up to 40%, and earning the foreign currency of 60 million USD
through export if possible, including 2 billion pieces of fresh-cut
flowers, 4 million pots of tropical orchid, 10 million pots of grasses
and 30 million pieces of bulbar flowers. The layout of production bases
will be: Mainly along Kunqu Super Highway, establish the demonstration
floriculture park of 5000mu, to absorb the domestic and overseas
enterprises to develop the flower industry in Yunnan; in the area
centered in Kunming and Yuxi, establish the production base of temperate
fresh-cut flower in 35000mu, in the area centered in Zhongdian and
Lijiang country of Diqing Eparchy, establish the production and
demonstration base of bulbar flowers in 4000mu; mainly in the tropical
regions of Xishuangbanna, Yuanmou and Yuanjiang, establish the
production base of tropical flower in 5000mu; in Kunming area, establish
the production base of orchid and potted flowers in 1000mu.
According to the goal of the plan, the
flower research center, training center and technical promotion center
will be established in 2 years. Till 2005, the flower industry will
realize the investment of 0.4 billion Yuan, the GDP of 1.3922 billion
Yuan, the taxation and profit of 0.4 billion Yuan, and the foreign
currency income of 10 million USD from export, push forward the related
industries to realize the output value of around 0.8 billion Yuan,
create 50 thousand job opportunities for the society, and enable 20
thousand farming families to achieve the living standard of
comparatively well-off.
